Bad NewsA Poem by willwebI stand at the window waiting, slightly parted curtains Watching the day go by in the slowest possible way Leaning against the glass, breathing heart shaped fog on the center pane - reflecting my thoughts The neighbors are watering their lawn Oh great, they see me Hi, Charlie, hey Susie nice lawn - they can’t hear me You should be home by now, pulling into the driveway Waving at me in rhythm
with the signal lamp flashing I can’t wait to see your smile through the smeared windshield I can feel my heart beating right now - faster Where are you, it’s late Wish you would hurry, I have some bad news, you’re not going to be happy I broke the urn today that held your ashes and I can’t seem to bring myself to clean it up All over your favorite carpet, I know you are going to be upset but you will understand, you always understand Another day and you didn’t make it home again I wish you’d come home I’ll be back at this window tomorrow - I love you © 2014 willwebReviews
