Caffeinated Conundrum

Maybe too much coffee,

maybe not enough -

 

My fingers poke at these

stupid little letters

as if they understand,

know what it is I am feeling as I type

 

Can they tell from the weight, the force I use?

Happy poems, light and airy tapings

Pain induced phrases,

slammed hard against tiny

plastic squares

 

Go ahead, correct my spelling,

underline those words in red,

tell me to capitalize when I don’t want to

I don’t care

 

What is it with you, all of you

embossed alphabetic characters, numbers

and some other crap I don’t get -

can you feel this?

Do you know what is going on inside of me,

what I am thinking, how much I hurt?

 

Then stop!

Stop making me hit you,

day after day, spilling everything

for total strangers to see

Stop making me think, dream and desire,

because none of this helps.

 

What if I push delete,

what would you think of me then?

 

I wish my heart had a delete key

I wish I had more coffee

i like the order of the last stanza...like the coffee is more important than the heart....i guess that attitude that exudes from the keys can make us pretty sarcastic.

my spell checker hates me because i never captialize "i" in my poetry...and don't plan to.
so it can keep hating me.

i like the part about the pressure...light and airy for the happy, harder for the pain.

either way our fingers dance and we feel the words, whether they feel us back or not.
