Cloudburst

Cloudburst

A Poem by willweb

A steady downpour

finds me wishing

I had forgotten my umbrella

For drenched is what

 I long to be,

in my memories of you

raining upon my heart,

cascading through my mind,

saturating my dreams,

drowning my desires

and washing away my happiness

The sun breaks through the clouds

and I remember why I brought it

"and washing away my happiness"
I guess sometimes pain and hurt can be addicting.
I love the title of the poem and the works of the poem as a whole :)
I like the roll reversal of the umbrella as well.
Great stuff here!!

Thank you so very much Ally for this nice review of my work. I am happy you enjoyed this one.
Awwww , the umbrella was there all along but in such concentrated sadness it didn't matter if it rained down on him...he probably barely felt until the sun arrived. How lovely.

A bit of pathetic fallacy here, me thinks? You have some stunning imagery here Will. You blow me away with every single line.

Oh I like this a lot Will, actually I love it...from first word to last. Like how you came full circle here, and 'saturating my dreams, drowning my desires'...is stunning.
