Nocturne

Nocturne

A Poem by willweb

Of the stars there came a symphony,
darkness tuned on melodic beams,
arranged in staccato movements
Zig zagged scales, off key and staggered
play to unsuspecting hearts
dancing in courtyards of cobble musings,
calling for an encore
as the light fades
and the skies become silent

Lovely ending. It is amazing to see that you created something this great with so few words. :))
My favourite lines would be:
"calling for an encore
as the light fades
and the skies become silent "

In my library!!:))

Thank you so very much for these nice comments today.
I love musically-themed pieces, especially those of the classical variety...the fourth line really captures that off-key feel with the zig-zag and what it does to the rhythm...great work willweb.

It so is, I do love it... one of my ole time favorites of the piano.... ;) and you are so welcome!
As I read this nocturne over again and again I can't help to fall prey to the gymnopedies but in a funny sort of way there is such a weight when naming a poem. The gentle strides on a romantic night cobbles, lights fading yeah I can start to see Eric Satie playing.

Thankyou WillWeb this is a pleasure

I agree with Jacob, I said that before. You're a master of metaphors.
This is a nice feel to it. Silence... Sometimes that's a good thing. :)
