Dark empty spacesA Poem by willwebWhat is this dark space? This cavernous theater of rock wall curtains crashing down on unsuspecting tourists Taking photographs in plaid shorts and sweaty polos, oblivious to the ending The orchestra plays in aria nightmares Kettle drums roar beneath a thunder cloud catwalk Sand bags pelt bit actors running for cover far beyond the cheap seats, collecting stale popcorn as they go Windows boarded in caustic fringe work, while laced languishing sets the pace in shadowed stripes of bad intent Stringing from each anchor, the dangling horrors nesting in the rafters What is the dark space? It is my mind of armor stud rusting Scraping the walls of residual panic, a dead skin pathway falls to the stairwell as I empty it for something new Stand clear those who would frown, this soon vacant place will fill with joy Breathing new life into thoughts and ideas, phrases in whimsical whitewash shall live and my smile will return to where it belongs © 2014 willwebReviews
