Eyes of the beholder

Eyes of the beholder

A Poem by willweb

When you look at me

I wonder what you see

with those staring eyes

Do you see questions

or do you find answers

in my expressions

Do you see experience

or age in each wrinkle

and blemish

Do you smile because

you like what you see

or find it funny

Do you see a love

only for you

or the rocky past

Do you find what you are looking for

or are you looking for

what you are hoping to find

Do you see understanding

or someone you

don't understand

Do you see a face that lights up

when you are near

or dim features fading

When you look at me

I wonder what you see

because when I look at you

I just can't see what you see in me

This one is a bit different from your others. :)
So many great questions and I love how you've structured it.
Sometimes, it's not about what they see in you but what they feel in you.
Love can't be explained sometimes. It just is. (Or isn't)
