Not included

A Poem by willweb

I stood

and stared at the horizon

A thin line somewhere in the future

glowing, calling me to walk

I fear

this future that is patiently waiting

in the distance, beneath dark clouds

as a crow flies in aimless directions

I know

I will stumble and fall deep

into a crevice of despair again,

lodged between there and then and now

I weep,

a lonely stick figure

knowing you will not lift me

once again to my trembling penciled feet

I wish,

I had been erased

from that page of life long ago,

where pink shavings collected, shaped as a heart

I die,

in the vast solitude

of this endless horizontal facade...

this future that does not include you

Thank you for your comments today Katie.
excellent use of metaphor...i especially like the "penciled feet" stanza...

that sad feeling of wanting to be erased from the page because the future does not include her.

Thank you so much Jacob for your comments today. I am more than happy you liked this one.
hmmm... I agree with Ance, some of your poems are heartbreaking but I realize to get that pain out you must bleed. It is good that you found your release here in words... pen it out until there is nothing left.

Aww. You break my heart over and over with your poems. :)

Here's a nice ending for you, it hadn't been written yet but it will come...

I stood
Smiled at the sun
Upon my face, and looked
Forward, to better days.
