A Poem by willweb

Where is that grass,

the greener stuff I’ve heard mentioned,

when advice is offered that does no good?

Oh, somewhere on the other side of the fence,

what fence, I don’t see it?

All I see is barren land,

beiges and browns, a sepia landscape

void of anything, a field of empty

No green and no fences

as far as my eye can see

You make it sound like a wonderland

where happiness waits

and sadness has been banned for life

I assume you have seen it,

so where is it…this greener grass?

I have to look inside of my heart you say…

that’s where I have been looking?

Damn... Your words are powerful and the imagery is so very vivid. This poem is so powerful and the message that comes across is going to be relatable. Loved the ending.

Oh the grass aint greener on the other side... change definitely comes from within.
I am learning that of late.

I agree, change definitely comes from within. Thanks.
You always come up with the best images...

"All I see is barren land,
beiges and browns, a sepia landscape
void of anything, a field of empty"

even in the suggested blandness this is an amazing image, love it... that greener grass always talked about ... well when you find it let me know where to look, because my compass is broken and I have been wondering in those fields of empty too long. Another awesome write, Will. Well done, friend.

Sometimes we are already standing on the greener grass, and we just don't look down to see it. Really good write here, Will.

Very interesting pen Will.It is true they say that the grass is greener on the other side but I personally love the grass on the side that I am lol.I think wishing to have the life that someone else has makes no sense .To accept and make the best of your life is what we should do :) Loved this Will :)

You are welcome Will :)
When they say 'the other side' I think they mean Heaven.

Good things come to those who wait, so you've got hang around here a bit longer and bless this green earth with your lovely words. Then, when it's time, we'll let you go.

Lovely poem.
