Emerald Laughter

Emerald Laughter

A Poem by Gypsy Willow

The ancient willow weeps

The stories of long ago

She holds on to the pain

We are too weak to bear

The brisk fall wind whispers

Secrets we don't want to share

Slapping us in the face

With bitter reality

The pale full moon watches

As we carry on with our lives

Pretending to be content

But silently she knows the truth

The King Stag still trembles

With fear of what we are

A species far too "advanced"

To work with nature

I sit back in the shadows

And wonder how to fix

A world that ignores

The Goddess
