RavannaA Poem by Willis WalkerOriginally a poem which has since been adapted to song.Porcelain skin breathing tranquillity effortlessly. Symbiotic ecstasy so naturally, so peacefully. The calm of a conscience elapsed from reality. In that subconscious I long to be.
Empirical truths from a creative mind. To savour the lost souls in what you find Is left to the senses and left behind: Touching silver for the very first time.
Ravanna, Ravanna, I’ll never forget that night in Havana. Kicking sand and painting faces in the clouds.
Ravanna, stand at the break of the waves And dip your toes, but not for long. Just take the moments one by one And hold them close before they’re gone.
Ravanna, this world will eat you up, But only if you let it, give it the pleasure. Stand in the embers, feet on hot coals, But your beautiful mind will take you elsewhere.
Your dancing eyes glide with the musical cadence, Picked up by the guitars, laid down as keyboards dance. Held by every note, every melody elapsed. Holding the harmonies as our bodies collapse.
You told me there were children in the dust. Innocence in the heartbreak and glitter in the rust. Sail away with me, we wander but are not lost, Only to return when the winds say we must.
Ravanna, Ravanna, I will
never forget that night in Havana. I took it in but never asked you. © 2015 Willis WalkerReviews
