And they danced round and round her head

And they danced round and round her head

A Poem by William Paris

I watched the yellow butterflies
dance round and round her head
and in her smile and her eyes
no more about her beauty could be said

when she's smiling and her eyes smile too
and the whole room suddenly lights
though there's some ungrateful b*****d
who holds her all those nights

tho' for now and maybe forever
across a distance no matter how far
I shall sleep and dream and hope
that one day align amongst those star

that maybe a cup of coffee
something as simple as a tea
a meeting that is so desired
and in person shall I see

those lovely yellow dancin' butterflies
that dance round and round her head
and I shall see her smile and her eyes
everything more about her beauty will be said
