Ballad of the Bovine

Ballad of the Bovine

A Poem by William Paris
"

A silly wee poem I wrote after my move to Scotland in '99. It's not very good but I don't care. It was a bit of fun.

"
Chewing their chud
chewing their fallow
oh blessed spotted cow
you I shall follow

Magnifico spots of
bright black and white
oh blessed spotted cow
you're easily seen at night

lowing close to earth
mooing up at the full moon
oh blessed spotted cow
why sing such a mournful tune

Mooing in such fine response
they tell me all
oh blessed spotted cow
is it to be the wrecking ball

'Mooo, Mooo' I can hear the sadness
from their little mooey pouts
oh blessed spotted cow
There's a market sale on spotted Snouts!

Run, run into the highlands
into the many tree
oh blessed spotted cow
You're Scottish and you shall be
