So Many

So Many

A Poem by William Coad

So many faces and they all look the same,

so many races and they're all just a game.

So many places and that is a fact,

So many bridges but they're all cracked.

So many reasons to be cooked just right,

so many nightmares to wake me at night.

So many job offers, I don't know which to choose,

so many things that I don't want to lose.

So many diamonds,

and so much rough.

So much straw,

so much chaff.

So many letters,

I know them by heart.

So many faces,

I can't tell them apart.

So many lights,

dazzling in my eyes.

So many people,

we let touch the sky.

So little rhythm.

So little fact.

So much gray.

So much black.

So much of everything,

and nothing at all.

So much for that,

its no good for all.
