An Acquired Sense Of SecurityA Chapter by WilliamClark
I looked through my binoculars again when I noticed a Soviet tank crew, they were making repairs on the vehical and waiting behind a small building in the village, up from the road. I took a closer look though my binoculars and noticed more enemy's setting up defaces. I looked to my left and saw the convoy of humvees approaching at a steady pace down the thin dirt road. Before I could contact them, a blast of dirt and fire shot up from under the lead humvee, blasting it on its side. The second humvee diverted right and smashed into a brick wall on the side of the road, violently impacting the occupants. The other humvees quickly pulled up behind them and blocked the small dirt road. All the gunners started firing at the village in the distance, red and green tracers flew towards the buildings. They were met with heavy suppresive fire from mounted machine gun nests. One humvee tried to pull up and get past the burnt chassis, but a round went flying though the glass, hitting the driver in the shoulder, sitting immobile, the gunner swiveled around and tried to return fire but a bullet hit the metal roof in front of him, spraying him with shrapnel. I quickly position my rifle and caught an enemy sprinting across a field, I took aim and fired. The round hit him in his ballistic plate, splintering upwards. He stumbled back, but got back up and dashed to cover. I took aim with my grenade launcher. THUMP, the rifle kicked back into my chest. I watched the projectile fall and burst on the side of a building. Instantly filling the air with smoke. I decided to get on the radio and request an air strike. I carefully marked and plotted the positions in my map. I called on the radio, carfully giving him the cordenates. I laid down, closely watching the situation, when I heard the screech of an air plane come over my head, I kept my eyes on the village when a shock wave blew past me, rolling me over on my side, I couldn't hear anything and everything looked hazy. There was a loud ringing in my ear as I looked around. I got up and realized they bombed the wrong position, with all my strength left, I sprinted towards the radio and cried out friendly fire.
