Two SidesA Poem by William FreeThe world as we know it
Two faces on a coin, one lustrous and pure, gleaming, polished, a shining beacon of hope. The other side is cracked, worn and faded away, its face blurred with age and corroded.
Each side is a face of humanity, reflecting on how the world is torn and split, like every person, two faces, the one we show the world and the one we keep inside. Faces of the saint and the liar, we hide away our mistakes behind the masks we weave, each word that spills from our mouth adding to the layers of building up around our true face, never to be seen even by our closest friends.
