Cannibalistic origami swan poem

I took my poem 'who snapchats anyway' printed it, and folded it into an origami swan, then used the exposed words and phrases to make a new poem...

Cannibalistic origami swan poem

 

you know,

on the concourse,

his patchy moustache,

woke up holding you.

 

I’ll hug

the day

consciously or in sleep,

peaceful like.

 

my limbs,

cherished,

drifted into the dreamcatcher.

put yourself there.

Hi,

I agree with ANTO. This is an interesting idea. I had the same idea for this review, i.e., taking your poem and cutting it into pieces and reassembling it for your review, but then I said, "Nah…this is a review, not art." So anyway, I like it. Turned into an interesting poem anyway.

Is it classed as found poetry (even though you wrote it) do you think William ?
I read somewhere that a hugely popular song (A Whiter Shade of Pale??) - was writen in a similar vein

yeah it was part of three 'found poems' i submitted fr my MA portfolio, one was more flarf ('a found poem of wants') the other was actually generated by weird microsoft data collection algorithms, so really i didn't write it at all (A found poem generated by Microsoft data collection from an assortment of my own words) I'll link these to you... for this poem i just wanted to find another way to generate 'found' words. i'm thinking of doing a whole series of these cannibalised from different poems using different origami shapes...

Yeah send me those William. The series from origami shapes sound so exotic kind of sounds like an Eastern method to see into the future. I wrote one found poem based on the Live Feed from here on WC - I wrote down the name of every poem that appeared on WC's live feed over a short period of time then rearranged them and got this (with no additional words - purely found words) - this is what came out of that experiment
