We leave ourselves

Who we are

We keep forgetting

What we are

We turn our backs

On each other

We point our guns

At each other

Bloodshed and violence

Over pointless things

Death and destruction

Because of pointless things

We fear

Our neighbors

And each other

So we shut them out

And yet we wonder why

No one

Wants to say hello
