Fall Asleep

I can't fall asleep,

With this heavy weight on my chest,

I am barely breathing,

While I lay here talking to you,

Don't say go to sleep,

Because monsters are in the shadows,

They will creep up on me,

And slip into my dreams,

A story will unfold,

But it will never be worse,

Than what's happening in reality,

I need someone to hold me now,

For I am haunted by my sorrows,

Never will I find hope again,

It's slipping through my hands,

Should I give up,

Or should I keep on climbing,

Someone help me through this,

My tired wings are causing me to fall,

I need someone to catch me,

My fears are taking over,

And I can't stop anything that is happening,

Looking around this dark place,

No one is in sight,

But I already knew that,

Before I tried to call out for help,

Not a soul will be there in my dark times,

For they will not see me,

In the deepest of the shadows,

I am just ghost,

Of who I used to be,

No more,

And I the cheerful little girl,

I am reborn as despair itself,

But I still want someone here by my side,

Maybe one day I'll be better,

And I'll be happy,

I'll know what it's like to enjoy life,

Understand the feelings of happiness,

See what it's like to love,

Know what it's like,

To have someone there,

When I need someone,

In my darkest hours,

Will anyone be there,

To help me up,

When I am knocked down,

By another,

Or myself?

That is very deep peom, there is so much meaning in this poems than it seems. nightmare are build from fears and fears are build from nightmares. that is a deadly circle to be in. i like this peom as you have express yourself so well, but those shadow only exist in darkness when light shine through they will disppear. Nice write!
