Writing

I've always hated writing,

But something inside of me,

Just clicked this year,

Writing hadn't ever come to me,

Nor had I ever been good at it,

But the main reason,

Why I never liked it,

Was because of my life,

In books and stories and poems,

The main character's life,

Is so much better than mine,

They end up with the happy endings,

While mine will probably end with pills,

Sure I'd call that a happy ending,

But everyone knows it's not really,

I've always believed in fairytales, 

But now I'm growing up,

And I can't keep lying to myself,

Saying everything is going to get better,

And there'll be a greater tomorrow, 

I know that there are no happy endings,

In this reality we live in,

Look around you if you don't believe me,

You'll see that Earth is a glum place,

And there isn't a greater tomorrow, 

A better day,

Or even a night without regrets,

Because that's the real world for you,

And no one will write an ecstatic ending
