Pounding

Pounding

A Poem by Savior of Time

My head
Is pounding.
My eyes
Are red.
My heart
Is hurt.
My feelings
Are crushed.
My throat
Is dry.
My voice
Is strained.
My anger
Is boiling.
My stomach
Is churning.
My fists
Are clenched.
My mind
Is racing.
My nose
Is stuffy.
My body
Is weak.
My being
Is fragile.
My feet
Are running.
My instinct
Says "Leave."

Author's Note

Savior of Time
How'd you like it? I got the inspiration from the call with the Help Line for my depression and other problems. It was a spur of moment. Leave suggestions and tips for my writing. Thanks!

When one feels as if there is no where to turn and no one there to hold them up bad things can happen. Instinct says to leave bad situations and yet, how often do we actually listen? While it is true that if something we are slightly terrified of comes we will flee but often when it is something that really brings fear to us we are like deer in headlights, unable to move. Scared we may be but we are even more afraid that the moment will turn for the worst, so we stay. We hope with all our hearts that something we did, said, or thought could change but time travel isn't reliable yet in the modern age. Even in the future, when it is, even worse things could happen that would mess the thing up even more. We are stuck in our ways and thoughts as humans, hard to reverse. Your write captured the anxious nervousness of this uncertainty I speak of. Nicely penned Willa, nicely penned. Best regards, Dell
