The Tales of Us

The Tales of Us

A Story by Savior of Time
"

"The Tales of Us" is about things my best friend and I do during a regular school day.

"
Waiting for the day to start. Talking, talking, talking. Handshake--Boosh! Laughs. Ring-ring-ring! Walking to our lockers. More talking. More laughing.
Ring-ring-ring! First period starts. Language Arts. Warm-ups. Poems and stories. Plays and play-writes. Partners and "Words-to-Know".
Ring-ring-ring! First period ends. Onto math without my friend. Jealously overcomes me. Drama instead of math. Math instead of drama. Pre-algebra begins. Charts and graphs. Sleeping in class.
Ring-ring-ring! Jumping awake. Math ends and Science Research beings. Another class with my best friend. Dissection partners and lab books. Cow eyes and pig hearts. Computers and smart boards. Even perfect lenses. A crime scene, a murdered student. Killer teacher thanks to cell phones.
Ring-ring-ring! Onto the best class of the day, World Cultures. Moving on with the day with my friend. Best friend, best teacher, best class. Maps and notes. Laughs and cupcakes. A hyper teacher and an insane intern.
Lunch! Running down the steps to get into the line. Slam! Goes my books onto the purple and white lunch table. Squeak-squeak! Go my shoes on the dirty lunchroom floor. Plopping down on the table with my disgusting lunch. "Boosh! Ba-bam! Ka-chow!" Handshakes all around. Moaning and groaning about tests and quizzes.  Giggling about crushes. Deep sighing of relief.
Ring-ring-ring! Onto the worst class of the day, Chorus. Saying good-bye to my best friend, asking for good luck in the class. Wishing I could be with my friend. Walking through the classroom doors, hesitating. The sixth teacher in two years. Trying to sing without having someone throw a punch. There's one here, and a slap there. Referrals given everyday, it seems. More like a zoo or a prison than a classroom.
Ring-ring-ring! Finally out of Chorus, on my way to Life Science. Walking to class and catching up with my friend. Sitting down at our table, class starts. Cells and body systems. Heat pyramids and food webs. Passing notes and whispering during tests. Chuckling from cheesy puns and teasing about my crush in the same class as us. A few food-related labs here and there, too.
Ring-ring-ring! End of the day. Walking back to our lockers to go home. More talking. More laughing. Happiness is in my hands thanks to you. Just a normal day for me last year.

Savior of Time
I hope you all enjoyed it. A few of the parts seem a little funny, but WC kept deleting some of my lines. I had to re-write them, so I tried to make them the same as before. I failed. :P Anyway, hope you liked it. Leave suggestions for my writing and anything else. Thanks!

It seems you're in seventh grade. Let me not sugarcoat it, seventh grade sucks...I'm pretty sure that fact is universal...Don't know why, but it is. Eighth grade is always a really awesome grade though, so be happy. It seems like you and your friend are enthralled in spending time with each other, and I must say that's great. Hold on to each other because middle school likes to rip people apart....a lot. Your normal day sounds a lot like mine, a zombie in every class you don't have your best friend. Haha, funny how girls across the globe can all relate to each other. Great write Willa.

If I were this friend...I would remember these days of last year and how they aren't the same this year. How the happiness was found just to be lost again. Maybe next year it'll be better. Maybe it'll be like 6th grade. Maybe...
