Not so special

Not so special

A Poem by WillaDanvers
"

Sometimes I don't know where my life is going, and who I can trust or talk to.

"

Tell me how you feel, my dear,

Rest your head upon my shoulder,

Close your eyes and let me help,

You’ll feel better in the morning,

Why do you always complain, my dear,

You must think you’re so special,

Everyone struggles in today’s world,

Stop pretending you’re the only one,

Mixing your messages, confusing me,

Should I trust the words you say,

Or curl upon my own struggles inside,

To make you feel better about your own,

Telling me to open up and let you in,

Only to tell me to stop being weak,

Punishing me for thinking I’m special,

For trying to love the body I live in,

The worlds that fall from your mouth,

Shut up and be like everyone else,

Hide in the shadows, be a quiet mouse,

You are not special, never have been,

Who can I trust if I don’t have you,

Supporting me in the life I have,

Asking me to open my heart to you,

Only to have you turn away entirely.

WillaDanvers
Family is meant to be there for you no matter what. But sometimes you have to take your rose coloured glasses off and accept that family will only be there when you fit their image of how you should be.
