ConsequencesA Poem by WillaDanversLiving with a lifelong is never a fun time. Especially when you think you can outsmart it and then have to deal with the consequencesSmall reminders of what holds her back, Consequences of that night a few back, Joining in with the crowds around, She couldn’t resists having a little,
Doesn’t she remember the results, Her past should be the reminder, Temporary fun can lead to pain, Leaving her sleepless and irritated,
Unable to focus on the work of day, Tossing at night, making it worse, She should have known better, But she couldn’t stay away from it all,
Joining in with the other young ones, She laughed the night away with Gin, Sobering as the early hours came, Thinking she was all in the clear,
That next night she realized the truth, She was still paying for her decisions, A grimace hiding beneath her smile, Pretending everything will be okay,
Continuing as the days pass away, Progressively moving faster again, Now she regrets that night a few back, But there is nothing she can do,
A few pills manage the pain, Manage but not delete it all, It’s a lifelong condition, she should know, But she is young, wanting to live,
She couldn’t resist a little then, Regretting in the dark of the day, Wishing her body wasn’t so weak, Dreaming of living while being young. © 2019 WillaDanversReviews
