You Are Not AloneA Poem by WillaDanversRecently moved to Uni, and the atmosphere here is very different. Some people thrive, others wilt and die, but it doesn't have to be that way.You are not alone, That fear you have deep down, Resides in your neighbours alike, Building day by day,
You are not alone, Swimming against the current, Without light to guide you, No stars, no sun, no moon,
A dark journey, floundering, You are not alone, Reach out a little further, Find the lifeline cast out,
They know what it’s like, Those first few days, months, Information forced down upon, And essays expected to be written,
You are not alone, Open your eyes, it’s not that dark, See all those other bobbing bodies, Holding on to that life line,
Let me repeat once more, You are not alone, One in 22 thousand, Don’t be a fool, grab the line. © 2019 WillaDanvers |
