Brazen Strengths

Brazen Strengths

A Poem by WillaDanvers
"

Things don't always go our way, but sometimes that is for the greater good in shaping us to be the people we are meant to be.

"

It is when we hurt that we dream,

Allow the barriers to sink complete,

The mind wanders into minefields,

No mans land, the place we avoid on norm,

We find ourselves fragile and weak,

Open books when we are often closed,

Hearts on our sleeves instead of cages,

We turn into the girls we think they want,

Not the fragile part, nor the weak,

But the part in being open and free,

Distancing ourselves from true nature,

Because it failed so often before,

It is when we hurt that we lost sanity,

The ability to think is overwritten,

Twirling in the midst of crazy ideas,

Idyllic worlds and maybe even some happy,

Our walls are crumbled to the ground,

The others can walk over our identity,

Reshaping us but only because we said they could,

Too weak to say no, to be our own,

The mind wanders into minefields,

Blown to pieces into stardust,

Mingling with the dreams of the many,

Glittering in golden showers of galaxies,

It is when we hurt that we rise,

When falling and breaking, we rise,

Finding faults and changing them,

Turning them into our brazen strengths,

Creating something we weren’t before,

Our own words forming our identity,

Healing from the misconceptions,

And becoming the girls we want to be.
