Eyes of UsA Poem by WillaDanversJust random thoughts through the normal of a dayDo
we go for the things we want? Chase
after with pure intent, Light
in our young blessed eyes, Wings
spread to catch a heart,
But
how do we know what we want? Everyone
else seems to, they know, And
here we sit, upon our bums, Asking
ourselves this crazy question,
What.
Do. We. Truly. Deeply. Want? Confront
the things in front of us, Debate
between heart and sane mind, Conflicting
opinions constantly, always,
But
then comes the next step, Do
we need that of which we want? Do
we deserve the things we dream, Do
they want what we want?
I
want something that lines the clouds, Puts
the fire beneath the volcanoes, Swims
with the dolphins in the Maldives, Decorates
the golden curls of little girls,
Maybe
we can learn to be enough, To
fulfill our own dreams of life, Free
our dazzling wings from cages, And
be our own inspirations, always,
Do
we go for the things we want? Chase
after with true hearts of ours, Not
needing a love, but in want we do, Crave
the comfort of another soul,
Love
ourselves, and someone else, We
can abide by someone else, with, Light
shared between young eyes of us, Maybe
in harmony, maybe in dreams. © 2018 WillaDanversFeatured Review
