Sunshine and BerriesA Poem by WillaDanversThere is nothing better than ripe Strawberries that have been sitting in the glorious sunshine! So good!In
the middle of the day I wander, A
break from the tenuous of day, Peeking
under covers of leafy green, Surprised
in shades of red and purples
Dreams
of little red shapes, Surrounded
by leafy greens, Bursting
with flavour, Doused
in the warmth of the sun,
Laying
boundless for miles, Metaphorically
of course, Covered
in white nets, Hide
from the birds of prey,
Berries
of similar but so different, Each
a row of their own, Let
them grow and be their own, Little
beauties in my mouth,
Dreams
of bursting colour, Dusted
in the finest of sugar, Drizzled
luxurious chocolate over, The
perfect bowl of heaven,
Dancing
on my taste buds forever, A
tune I don’t want to stop playing, Standing
in the midst of mayhem, A
beautiful garden of flavour,
In
the break of day I wander, Looking
for my little red surprise, Coated
in the warmth of the sun, Soaking
to the depths of my heart,
Berries
of beautiful classification, A
lucky break to be able to taste, In
the middle of the tenuous of day, The
perfect bursts of sweet sunshine. © 2018 WillaDanvers |
