Whispers of ClarityA Poem by WillaDanversSongs are powerful thingsAvoiding all questions and demands, Sticking to the safe and narrow, Fear of cracked formations in mask, Water leaking in, fear sliding out,
Held together with self-adhesive glue, Melting with each increase of affection, Losing grip on fragile hold of earth, Struggling to hold the doors closed,
Standing with open mind, she sees, The clarity of broken ribs, I can count, Smiling from the other side of the glass, Maybe one day she will be perfection,
Food sitting there waiting, uneaten, Provoking her tears, turn out the light, Curled into foetal position, broken, Dwelling on everything under shadows,
Trembling hand, unable to reach out and grasp, To take hold of the chain you offer, To wipe away the tears streaming down, Clutching whimpering stomach tightly,
Unable to talk about the demons, Fear of drowning alone in the dark, She told you she didn’t want to talk, Now she is struggling to keep afloat,
Gasping for air under moonlight, Silent suffering in the arms of nobody, Pleading for a simple escape, let me go, Disappear in a whisper, never noticed,
Everything she feared, here it is, Laid upon silver platter you’ve given, Not by any purpose other than to know her soul, You shattered her safety boat, and left to drown,
She knows her soul, and her sufferings, A path to safety she crafted, Only to have it wiped away so easily, By the wanting’s of you,
She told you she didn’t want to talk, Struggling to hold the thoughts at bay, The clarity of broken ribs, I can count, Wishes to leave on a whisper, she dreams.
