PeachesA Poem by WillaDanversThoughtful moods and cravings for summer fruitsThe innocence of expression, We see only what they want us to, For under the shadow of a few words, Lies the malice of the truth unspoken,
A beautiful smile, untainted peach lips, Her blue eyes so free, we wish to be, Exchanging peaches for rubies, Left wandering, searching for our freedom,
Take the good from one, and from another, Idealistic worlds only existing in thoughts, You must take the good with the bad, It’s what makes our freedom so real,
Forming adaptations of current situations, Overshadow the small things that matter, Seeing only what they want us to, Or only what we will allow ourselves,
Blaming them for our freedom not given, Cursing the rubies in silver, dreams in tatters, Longing for the peach in tune with aqua, Dancing in the golden sands to the tune of freedom,
Natural beauty trumping that of manufactured, A song of innocence more alluring than the malice, Weaving the good and bad into something sweet, With lilted laughter touched by peaches on her lips. © 2017 WillaDanversFeatured Review
