Shadow of a SoulA Poem by WillaDanversA constant memory following my every footstep.A constant memory playing again, Leaving me not a second spare, Haunting me like the dead of past, A record stuck on repeat,
The greens of springtime, With the warmth of chocolate, Asking for permission to come knocking, Refusing to leave me a clear mind,
Glimpses of this, flares of that, Stuck to my soul like a shadow, Keeping
my heart beating constant,
Time come, and then time gone, Smiles never too far away, insanity, The unexpected dawning on my life, Planting my feet on solid ground permanent,
Paying me back for that which I did, Rosy cheeks and avoiding eyes, No other choice than to smile, Not that I would choose any different if I could,
A constant memory loving me, Deciding to stay, convincing me, A rising sun being our perfect metaphor, I promise you this, fear will not override this, us. © 2017 WillaDanversFeatured Review
