Lies of TimeA Poem by WillaDanversBe you, and let that be enough :)The petulance of a child, over bearing, Carrying the weight of a perfect world, Under those trembling shoulders, a prayer wept, A dream preparing to shatter, give me strength,
Little by little, cracks do appear, Life creeps through the hate, the anger, Showing me what it could be like, The things I could have, like before,
Reminiscing of past, tears only remembered, Shattering hearts, cracked ribs, trust gone, Her smile so alluring, working again, A flimsy plaster, holding together again,
Lies covered in sweet gold, taking so easily, Truth brushed under the rug, not important, Those hazel eyes conquering, loving, Her charm, laughter, only thing in mind,
Until time doth come, one can’t move, Under her trance, loving a secret untrue, Hearts ripped, reality wiped, truth revealed, A man broken without time, a memory to remain,
Loving with childlike innocence I believe, Living with wisdom harshly learnt, A man broken by the lies of his love, Asking forgiveness from those who love him. © 2017 WillaDanversReviews
