Baby BluesA Poem by WillaDanversNo work to be done other than that to writeHolding with soft and tender hands, Overseeing with the blue of innocence, Lingering in mind, ne’er changing, Dream to compare but dare not do,
Whispers of gold overshadowing, The baby blues given by those who love, Bouts of laughter winding through the days, A childlike joy resting the tired nature of them,
The petulance of a child, Working ways under their skin, Fighting urges, remembering love, A child, the knowledge still to bear,
Mud tracks and dirt all around, Empty pot plants, but full hearts, His little smile, unable to contain, Warming hearts and breaking anger,
My dear sweet child, continue, Break my things, scatter them all around, But don’t you ever forget this one thing, Remember to smile, and love without restriction,
A time we look back on, such innocence. Wandering around, no weight on shoulders, Dream to compare, but dare not do, Not our past to be lived, but our today. © 2017 WillaDanversFeatured Review
