Whisper of the DevilA Poem by WillaDanversTrying to get back to my roots and unearth the passion I had for writing stories into the form of poetrySilver tongued, a whisper of the devil, Golden haired, a depiction of heaven, More charm than the pull of green paper, Reeling you in, the chosen love, perfection,
A game played too often, childlike at heart, Unable to stop the creation of a perfect world, Only to tug the rug out from under poised feet, Their worst nightmares in shadow of a dream,
Eyes of chocolate, constantly on watch, Swirling with illustrious pleasure, hiding, The true meaning and understanding of perfection, Outlined with the temptations of the devil,
Two deep dimples on the face of the man, Holding your heart, with a sinister smile, Masked by the emotions he has made you feel, For your eyes only see the charm and ‘perfection’
Cold words dripping down your spine, Splinters shoved through ribcage, piercing heart, Your eyes open to reality, but a little too late, The game is over, the devil won once again with ease,
Helpless and mocked, watch the game start again, Her raven locks sweeping on shoulders, The eyes of innocent, just as you were, Caught and bound, unknowingly playing the game,
Her dancing spirit matched the tune he spun, Soft hands intertwined with those he offered, The man with the eyes of chocolate, warm and deceptive, The silver tongued devil unable to stop these games. © 2017 WillaDanversReviews
