A Failed NationA Poem by WillaDanversThoughts, Words, Poem?Solidarity is the finest of fear, A thread so singular, almost unseen, Lingering in the hearts of many, Clinging to the emotions of pain,
Facades and stories created, To make ourselves believe we are fine, To show others we are not pitiful, A chain reaction, every sheep follows,
She does what you do, and you what he, Everyone now of singular mind, Same thoughts, same fears, The same facades we pretend to believe,
Apologies and open natures a rare occurrence, True smiles and free laughter, blue eyes, red lips, No one sees what I talk about, just another, Concept of the past, not in today’s world,
Arrows in backs, and snide assumptions, I follow your lead, and you hers, Falling stunned when someone does to you, What you have just done to another,
Demons shared between broken moulds, Cackling at the peace that doesn’t exist, Angels crying in heavens, unable to mend, The cracked hearts of human beings,
We, a nation, human nature, have failed, To be the things we were intended to be, Strong and loving, living with purpose, Become puppets of materialistic hate,
Struggling to understand the black of life, When the white of life has been destroyed, Our lives controlled by the fear of being alone, A failed being, pushing us, to fail ultimately. © 2017 WillaDanversFeatured Review
