Lingering BlameA Poem by WillaDanversHe didn’t see her coming, Does that make it his fault? He only saw a clean path, And actions that wouldn’t hold consequences,
But all actions have consequences, And now he must see the fallout, Guilt and shame cast upon his being, The killer of their happy story,
He didn’t see her coming, Does that make it her fault? Running with the shadows, until too late, Ground into something no one could see,
Unrecognizable to the naked eye, Changed from an angel, Into something of ultimate mistake, The crumbling memory only to remain,
He didn’t see her coming, And she didn’t know any better, Together their actions do make, Tragedy of true depths, pain forever bound,
Early days, no one to blame, Floundering hate, and confused hearts, Her resting grave only half their story, The other half, still to come,
He didn’t see her coming, At least that’s what he says, How to we determine, the actions, The real reasons behind the death,
Leaving the blame lingering untold, His story, the end unknown, Need we cast more shame and hate, On a soul, never again to rest?
