Lingering Blame

Lingering Blame

A Poem by WillaDanvers

He didn’t see her coming,

Does that make it his fault?

He only saw a clean path,

And actions that wouldn’t hold consequences,

But all actions have consequences,

And now he must see the fallout,

Guilt and shame cast upon his being,

The killer of their happy story,

He didn’t see her coming,

Does that make it her fault?

Running with the shadows, until too late,

Ground into something no one could see,

Unrecognizable to the naked eye,

Changed from an angel,

Into something of ultimate mistake,

The crumbling memory only to remain,

He didn’t see her coming,

And she didn’t know any better,

Together their actions do make,

Tragedy of true depths, pain forever bound,

Early days, no one to blame,

Floundering hate, and confused hearts,

Her resting grave only half their story,

The other half, still to come,

He didn’t see her coming,

At least that’s what he says,

How to we determine, the actions,

The real reasons behind the death,

Leaving the blame lingering untold,

His story, the end unknown,

Need we cast more shame and hate,

On a soul, never again to rest?

I enjoyed the repetition in this poem, not too much but not too little, and the structure was also good. The only thing I noticed was that it didn't have the best flow, maybe some rhyming or similar sounding words would have fit? Otherwise it was a beautiful piece, great job :)

Ok I loved EVERYTHING about this poem. This was an absolute PERFECT use of repetition. I love the words and the setup is absolutely perfect. I couldn't have done any better myself. I love how each of your poems have that dark element. It just draws you in. And then each word you use, no matter how small or how big, each one means something. And that is why I love your poetry. And now I bid you au revoir until the next time. I hope I made you smile :) If not... SMILE. That was not meant to be a threat at all. Or was it? (ominous laugh) I'm messing.......for the most part. Anyway, I say again Au revoir to you and I will talk to you in the next review :)

The repetition was perfect, it adds to the sad story like a lamentation... well done!
