She WandersA Poem by WillaDanversYet another poem in the genre I seem to know so well, enjoyBoiling hot pelting fragile skin, Yet still lingers the unfamiliar of nothing, Leaving a cold and empty mind, While the burns attempt to revive,
Mind wandering into distance, Disregarding the trouble of heat, Tears void, heart only a toy, Stuck in the nothing of emptiness,
Feet moving without purposeful destination, Cold wrapping around bare skin, Caressing dry eyes, attacking wet hair, Leaving body feeling weak of life,
Moon shining from above, Capturing bleak attention, Casting shadows on things behind, Taunting things of possible adventure,
Stopping mind in its tracks, Humanity trying to break through, Emotions destroyed, with fraction of hope, She wanders, lost and in pieces,
Reality so far from her being, Insanity, a firm grip on her soul, Pain and hatred lie just beneath the surface, Everything directed at self,
Concocting yet another plot, To cast self-further into dirt, She wanders, lost and in pieces, Wondering the point of survival,
One last free breath, and hidden again, Under the mask so carefully created, Fooling everyone that see’s, Leaving a cold and empty mind, © 2017 WillaDanvers |
