Hidden FailuresA Poem by WillaDanversI was sitting at a water fall and my mind got lost in the tumbling's of words, and I don't know if it works but here it sits on paper and screen. The illusion of perfection, Deceiving the mind we think we know, The illusion of control, Riding the tidal wave of undeniable doom,
Casting shadows on the dreams we create, Unknowingly we stride into closed cage, Into the arms of awaited gloomy fate, Becoming just another sacrifice of the human mind,
Dipping pale toes into hidden failures, Hands bound behind by own assumptions, Eyes forced closed by the naivete of our own ways, And ears drowned in the whispers of broken promises,
The idyllic sweetness of fluttering hearts, Broken in three by depressing of silent thoughts, Thrown in directions previously avoided, Taking the road once sworn never to fall,
Lost to the pains and fears of own creation, Forgetting all who stand behind waiting for redemption, Screaming in agony for glitch in fairness, Slipping into the belief that all has been deserved,
The illusion of perfection, Defeating the person, we once believed to be, The illusion of control, Destroying any shred of humanity lying within,
Hidden failures ruling over patience of peace, Own assumptions casting turmoil on present and future, Eyes glued shut trying to hide from the pain of reality, Soul broken and you gone, only a shell to remain. © 2017 WillaDanvers |
