Fading Away

These past few nights I have found myself leaking from my eyes, Some call it tears..., I figured maybe writing down my feelings would release some of this pressure sitting in my delicate chest.

Fading Away

 

A feeling so intense there are no words,

A heart so broken there is no way out,

A savior to all who cry out,

With no one to hear her soft whimpers,

 

A dark shadow cast across her face,

The tears falling ever so softly,

Silent paths of misery, unseen,

Hiding beneath the mask of her smile,

 

Everything moving at chronic speed,

A compliment thrown her way,

Putting light on that fake smile unseen,

Her movements concrete, mechanical,

 

A glass screen hiding everything she is,

Almost impenetrable, almost broken,

She asks for a second of your day,

You ask for an hour every day,

 

A little bit given with every sacrifice,

Mirror reflecting an image she doesn’t recognize,

Stuck in this world with no memories,

Fading away, like the stars,

 

Cold breezes wrapping around her shoulders,

Soft raindrops caressing her scratched soul,

Those scars mean everything to her,

The only escape that released her pained thoughts,

 

Walking through the days with a simple smile,

Encouraging the next person that they are worth it,

Her advice making a difference to others,

Own ears deaf to the words of hope,

 

Fallen to far down that pit of despair,

Lending hand to those who have a chance,

Wandering through life, an empty smile always,

Self-lost to the hatred of a demonic mind
