Distorted Truths

Distorted Truths

A Poem by WillaDanvers

Flickering light above muddled minds,

Casting you in and out of shadow,

Distorting beauty into horrific nightmare,

Warping reality to fit own conditions,

Dark eyes in a distance,

Inserting truth amongst filthy lie,

All senses dimmed to bare minimum,

Deceit recognised as honest truth,

Life thrown to the wolves,

Asking why when we die,

Letting those predators stalk right close,

And take last dying breath from us,

Choose choice and fall away,

Coincidence a matter of opinion,

Confusion settled upon muddled mind,

As to why predator chose to take,

We convince self of being worthy,

To be the one that doesn’t settle to rule,

The one that is more than simple,

Warping reality to find own conditions,

Demons are a figment of imagination,

Taking blame from reflection to another,

Creating demonic version of self to cast upon blame,

Inserting lie amongst broken truth.

Another really great poem!

Enjoyed reading this poem. I can relate to the confusion and questioning that comes after deception. You start to question everything, even yourself. I liked the imagery and style of this. Great read!
