Deceitful LoveA Poem by WillaDanvers
I used to believe your lies, Whispered in my ear, Sickly and sweet to the touch, Not a drop of truth held in,
I used to love that glint in an eye, Dancing with devious joy, What seemed like love, Turned out to be but deceit,
Standing here, looking out, I see that same glint upon the waves, A devious happy within the danger of deep, A perfect resemblance to what I knew,
I was ready to die for you, To put my life on the line to prove the love, You were ready to laugh at me, For being so naïve, and stupid,
I loved you so much, I believed you even when I knew better, I came back because I loved you, But I can’t do this anymore,
I used to believe your lies, Whispered in my ear, Whilst you twisted the dagger, Deeper into my back,
Time is meant to heal all wounds, But time is the harshest truth around, My wounds never healed, And time just laughed behind me,
I loved you so much, But nothing was ever true, Everything you ever did, Has lost all meaning,
These waves look so glorious, Glittering under the white of cloud, Disguising the dark just under the surface, Reminds me of you,
I wish this wasn’t the end, But your lies ruined me, I don’t know reality anymore, I don’t believe in me anymore,
Deceitful love is what I was worth, Innocence destroyed in a second, Your confidence blooming with each tear, Blooming blood red from my pain,
I love you so much, I came back again and again, But I can’t do this anymore, So I won’t,
I will welcome the replica of you, I will fall once more, Fall to the depths of dark, And stare at the dangerous glinting above.
