lotus eaterA Poem by Will Grahambased on the lotus eaters from Homer's Odessey
my breath stinks of perfume
my tongue dyed purple and the remnants of leaves in my nail beds. the real world is too loud too cruel too feeling give me something to help me escape to wonder about color to dream softly (sleep? perchance, to dream?) (is that how it goes?) (one does not recall.) i run my fingers through my hair And blonde strands come away lazily woven through my digits (i could have sworn my hair was dark.) my mind is too loud. the silence is comforting. comfort. it is all i live for. all i crave. all i deserve. please. another blossom. to sooth my tongue. (and dull my mind.) © 2019 Will GrahamAuthor's Note
