For Yourself Or Someone Like YouA Poem by Will.AdamsA poem to yourself, or someone like you. A personal piece vaguely written to myself, by myself.
It was birthed long before you were bred
An affliction made to last beyond your bitter end Like a dormant venom in your veins Acting as the stray spark in your brain A burden passed from father’s hand A peculiar poison fit just for you An ill seed that has been long-since been set to brew Born to engulf the waning light we hardly knew There is a life yet to live One far past the shambles of the lonely stead you’ve braved And if there is any potential that you have It’s only that which could be grave The same that you so quickly fled As you often do But this can end with you © 2014 Will.Adams |
