Heat LightningA Poem by Will.AdamsA very short and very personal poem chronicling a night beneath a flickering night sky.
There is a place deep in the night
A place with only you in my sight Far from god and close to none I’ll pray away our rising sun The car’s still parked beneath the trees And you’re still here, right next to me Where we twist through sultry savagery Broken skin never meant so much to me Open the doors and forget the keys The old world’s gone, disappear with me Let the foolish yearning in my heart be that which will pay For I can’t say goodbye to yesterday © 2014 Will.Adams |
