'Death of a Writer'

'Death of a Writer'

A Poem by Will Neill
"

This is a new version of an old poem of mine 'Death of a Writer' I wanted to post it in memory of my friend Marie who was one of the first to friend me on W.C

"

                              ‘Death of A Writer’

When I die and leave this place

         Remember me with saving grace

Each word I wrote and sentence given

For all thee so was I driven

When no longer can this page constrict

My soul of solitude of me depict

           A lonely image sitting here

A ghost upon an antediluvian chair

So when I’m gone don’t mourn for me

You never came in life to see

The pain I endured to get thus far

For this is who we writers are

For and in memory of my good friend Marie here on Writers cafe that passed away recently I will miss your charm.

A wonderfully sincere tribute and sweet memories of a very special woman. Don't doubt she's smiling as she peeps over your shoulder to read your words.

Marie used to review all my poems at one time. Great tribute.

I have seen many tributes...this one feels very sincere and hold a universal welcome and charm. Much like Marie treated her fellow writers.
Thank you for sharing such a kind sentiment.

I agree, she was also a friend to many of us. We have lost a few of the old timers...so we must welcome the new. Valentine

This is a lovely piece. In loving memory of... Rest calm.
But rest assured that she will live on through her words. As all of us writers do.

A touching tribute to a grand lady. She'll never be forgotten by those of us who knew her. Thank you writing this, Will.
