Mind at War

Mind at War

A Poem by Will
"

An internal dialogue of sorts

"
There's a war that is waging,
as explosions pierce the night.
Two sides, angrily opposed,
to no end they will fight.

But this isn't a war of nations,
neither factions nor religions.
This is a war of the mind,
torn between decisions.

The Right prefers free thinking,
"Follow your heart," it will say,
"What's the worst that could happen?
Just do it as you may."

The Left leans towards logic,
"Do the math, don't trust your gut;
the heart's just a blood pumping sap!
Use your head, or end up in a rut."

Left and Right shout each other down,
a never-ending debate.
Argument of the century,
in the balance is my fate.

So I wait for the conclusion,
as my temples throb with pain.
Hopefully this war of the mind
won't make me go insane.

With the pace with which you are coming up with poems is really appreciative.
You will go very far.
Thoughts leading to dilemma is a good subject to write on.
I guess this is your second poem on the clubbing of mind.
