The Greatest MuseA Poem by Will
The Muses spark my poetry,
Ink and words flow from Olympus. Urania puts my head in the stars, Often where it stays. Then Euterpe plucks her lyre, Sweet music to my ears. Calliope inspires tales of heroes, Their feasts and their famines. Clio tells me of history, Ancestors long before I. Polyhymnia brings me close to God, Puts my poems in his palm. Euterpe makes my feet tap, Feeling the beat of her song. Melpomene brings the tears to my eyes, Pain and agony from her pen. But indeed I save the best for last, Who's the greatest muse of all? Ah, that would be Eratos, Passionate, caring, and warm. She keeps my heart intact, And maintains my belief in love. So yes, The Muses all keep me writing. But Eratos, She is mine. © 2013 WillAuthor's Note
