Bright is the Lavender

Bright is the Lavender

A Poem by Will O'Connor
"

A damp morning in the garden with the air rising and sounds muted to a very intense quietness.

"

Bright is the lavender

Lightening the estuaries of the mist

And veiled the trees

Through morning’s muted ghost

Stilled is the air

Rising with the breathing ground

And loud the rain

Talking among solitudes closening murmur

Stared is the dancing on long grass

Lifted to the sweet sway of the wind

Gentle the light

Blushing the faded saturation of the air

Softly the day

And bright is the lavender
