A Mountain Under Mist

A Mountain Under Mist

A Poem by Will O'Connor
"

A quick sketch of the mountains that can be seen from home written on a misty but bright day as the clouds were falling down the mountain sides. Composed in one sitting

"

Stone clinging mist surging amongst the high summits

Falling, drip and flowing down time carved valleys

Flowing to swell again against cliff and ridge

Swelling, spilling against them to overflow and drop again

Down and stop and still more down

To well at last amongst the forested living slopes

Now for a time the mountains

Summer sun barren are water white again
