Precious Infant Soul

Precious Infant Soul

A Poem by LyricistWannaB
"

An internal plea

"

You haunt me, you help me, you save me,

Precious infant soul, to you I plea-

Comfort in confining fantasies

Plummeting, suffocating, Vodka and pills,

Clawing, collapsing, loss of earthly wills

You saved my young life, so scarred and old.

I yearn to hand you my bare infant soul

You, with that giggle and those bouncy blond curls,

Cheeks of summer red, and feet bare like weightless lead.

You who rolls in the leaves of fall and the banks of winter

Who reaches for the flowers of spring and the stars of summer.

You fly into Mommy and Daddy’s arms and they cradle you tight.

I flee to the road, fearful a tear will burden their sight

Bound by scars, fleetingly free

They like you, yet merely love me.

Precious infant soul, to you I plea-

Haunt me, help me, save me.
