Once Upon Reality

Once Upon Reality

A Poem by LyricistWannaB
"

"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost. That is where they should be. Now put foundations under them." --Henry David Thoreau

"

Once-

Perched in my tower, I paid the ultimate price-
A shattered heart
Shards cutting through fairytale fables,

And shared notions of fate

In my arms above the clouds we once lay
Where weepy tales of past, vibrant visions of future-

Led my spirit astray--to bleed

For towers obscure the true darkness of day.

You fled my arms as my spirit did bleed,
And with his lead, descended to the city
Where eternally she waits for you, in need
Together you smile through motions of the daily ride
While thoughts of bleeding spirits haunt you
Silently, you too must bleed inside

As you always abide--the weak, those who confide.

While shattered, my spirit has fabled power
So, I too descended from the tower
But unlike journeys prior
Veered from unmarked city paths of your heart’s desire
To a lonely field, free to pick every wildflower
The daises in hand basked in pure light
Miles from the glow of neon city lights
Or the glow of towers, above clouds, at fairytale heights

Once-
Earth and fate conspired,
And inspired me to fight.
